Downloaded the 25 min vid of Half-life 2 from E3. Absolutely unbelievable. The boys at Valve have been busy. They produced a milestone first time around. They are about to redefine gaming.

The proprietary "Source" engine looks like it will establish a new benchmark, particularly with its real world physics and environment modelling.
